Last week, Russell and Danny Simmons' Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Bombay Sapphire came together to celebrate artists Miguel Ovalle and Lerone Wilson, winners of the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. The series is a nationwide search that aims to discover the next big artist. In its second year, the search received nearly 3,000 submissions from artists across the U.S. aiming to compete at gallery exhibition in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Washington DC, Houston, Detroit, Boston, San Francisco, New York, and Miami.
As a prize, Ovalle’s Dizmology and Wilson’s A Path through the Sky are now on view at Rush Arts Gallery in New York from February 9 – March 16, 2012.
