The eyes are the focus in the introspective portraits of Anh Duong revealed in an exhibition at Sonnabend Gallery in New York this Thursday, November 3rd. Duong uses self portraits as a form of diary and psychological examination. Her paintings play with different forms of dressing up and the honesty of stripping bare. What remains consistently enrapturing is Duong's stare, suggesting endless combinations of human emotion. The exhibition will display 14 new paintings by the artist to be viewed by the public through December. Duong recently appeared in Whitewall's Summer 2011 Design issue in conversation with Diane von Furstenberg.
