Artist Orly Genger’s Fall 2011 collection for Jaclyn Mayer is now available for purchase in stores and online. Says Mayer of the collection, “For fall we started to transform the rope into metal through casting. We were inspired by the juxtaposition of the hard metal with the soft jerseys and ropes we combined. We were inspired by everything from the wrapping of Egyptian Mummies to the colors of African Safaris.” Readers of Whitewall may have seen Genger’s work before – albeit on a much larger scale. Her massive installation at Mass MOCA appeared in Whitewall’s Spring 2010 issue.
