Swoon talks with ICA curator Pedro Alonzo.

Swoon and ICA curator Pedro Alonzo took part in Louis Vuitton Art Talks in Boston this Wednesday, August 31. Fifty guests got a first look at the artist’s soaring installation, Anthropocene Extinction, which was also the topic of conversation that evening. The work takes over the ICA’s Sandra and Gerald Fineberg Art Wall, stretching to forty feet in height between the lobby and elevator atrium. In Anthropocene Extinction, sculptural elements – including a 400lb bamboo sculpture – are woven together by streams of precisely cut paper. The site-specific work will be on view to the public this Saturday, September 3, accompanied by a video featuring an interview with SWOON and shots of the impressive installation process. Supported by Louis Vuitton, Anthropocene Extinction will be on view through December 30, 2012.
