Iguatemi presents the fifth edition of the Iguatemi Photo Series in São Paulo, Brazil. Launching on August 10, contemporary fashion photographer Steven Klein’s “USAnatomy” will showcase 60 works at MuBE (Brazilian Museum of Sculpture, São Paulo).

As one of the world’s leading fashion photographers, Steven Klein is known for shooting celebrities including like Natalie Portman, Elton John, Prince, Tom Ford, and Naomi Campbell. His editorial work has been featured in internationally acclaimed fashion magazines. Klein has also created fashion campaigns for Clavin Klein, Dolce & Gabanna, Alexander McQueen, Nike. He recently directed a video clip for Lady Gaga’s single “Alejandro.”

Curated by fashion producer Chico Lowndes, “USAnatomy” will feature 30 of Klein’s large-scale works and 30 of his original Polaroid images. The pictures challenge conventional notions of contemporary fashion photography and celebrity portraiture with images of celebrities including Madonna, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Justin Timberlake, amongst others. Klein’s photos are sexually charged, conceptual imagery that puts a twisted on pop culture. The exhibition blurs boundaries between art and fashion—creating a dialogue between art, fashion, and contemporary photography.

The Iguatemi Photo Series displays photography that goes beyond journalistic witnessing, beyond the iconographic record of classic photography, and beyond displaying its importance as a contemporary cultural expression. “USAnatomy” will be on view at MuBE from August 11 to August 28.
