Now performing at the Museum of Modern Art is the New York-based artist collective Grand Openings, a five-member group that has been providing a multifaceted, live program throughout the museum entitled "Grand Openings Return of the Blogs." The group's core members - Ei Arakawa, Jutta Koether, Jay Sanders, Emily Sundblad, and Stefan Tcherepnin - have entertained visitors with their actions, choreographies, and music. The performances are sometimes scripted and sometimes improvised, keeping visitors guessing as to what is going to come next.
While every day will feature a new performance, Grand Openings meets twice daily for recurring performances: Random Film Screening at 12:00 PM in the Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 2 and Tea Time at 3:00PM in the Marron Atrium. Upcoming performances include a music by the band Liturgy on July 29 and a reenactment of Kathryn Bigelow's film Near Dark (1987) on July 30.
Guests can find out specific times and locations of each day's performances on Twitter (@MuseumModernArt) or at the Grand Openings calendar blog http://www.reenaspaulings.com/MoMAblog.htm.
