Montblanc celebrated the launch of the Thornwillow Libretto series on July 13 at the St. Regis in New York. The collection features original works produced by distinguished writers and artists such as Jonathan Galassi, Harry Belafonte, Peter Matthiessen, and Stacy Schiff, among others. The inaugural libretto, "It Happened Here" by Lesley M. M. Blume, gives a nostalgic look at the history of the St. Regis New York and features some of the hotel's most well-known visitors, such as Salvador Dali, Diana Vreeland, and Alfred Hitchcock.
The decor was twenties inspired, Moet champagne was served in a bathtub, and music was provided by Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks. Guests included Harry Belafonte, Elisabeth Saint-Amand, Lisa Salzer, Caitlin Davis, Nina Freudenberger, and Poppy King. Montblanc honored the theme of the evening, celebrating the written word, by showcasing its Prince Rainier III Limited Edition 80 pen.
