Blancpain, the world’s oldest watch brand, introduced its Basel 2011 collections at the Blancpain Boutique on June 27.  Looking to past collections and pieces as inspiration, Blancpain made a number of changes to its L-Evolution, Villeret, and sport collections.

The L-Evolution collection, launched in 2009, welcomes a new addition that is equipped with a tourbillon and large date display, as well as a power-reserve indication that appears on a subdial directly integrated onto the oscillating weight. The piece boasts a seven-day power reserve and is available in satin-brushed white or red gold versions.

New to the Villeret collection is the impressive Villeret Demi-Fuseau Horaire, a model that is able to adjust the second timezone in half-hour increments. For travelers going to countries with half-hour timezone differences such as India, this new feature is particularly innovative and useful. The model comes in a half-hunter case in red gold with a sapphire crystal case-back.

Teaming up with Lamborghini, Blancpain also introduced its redesigned Super Trofeo watch, a model created to honor the 30-unit limited version of the vehicle of the same name. The watch itself, while featuring a subtle Lamborghini shield on the dial, does not limit itself to only drivers of the Lamborghini brand but rather appeals to lovers of watches and luxury cars of all kinds.

Each collection and model has its own style, look, and personality, ensuring that there is sure to be a Blancpain watch for every wearer and connoisseur. The exhibit at the Blancpain Boutique will be on view through July 2.
