Designer Marcel Wanders and Flos, the Italian lighting company, teamed up last
month to create a one-of-a-kind experience that left a permanent mark on some of
the guests in attendance. In partnership with the International Contemporary
Furniture Fair (ICFF), Wanders' designs for Flos were turned into limited-edition
tattoos by tattoo artist Scott Trerrotola of Ritual.
"My Flos lamps are special pieces. They hold hidden elements of extreme beauty
that is revealed only when they are used in certain ways. The idea is that the tattoos
capture this spirit, a little beauty secretly living on the bodies of a few people in New
York. I am excited so many people wanted to have the tattoo done," said Wanders.
The tattoos were given to 20 select guests in attendance, and as Wanders said, "I am
sorry we could only do 20."
