During this year’s 54th Venice Biennale, Dasha Zhukova, Alexander Dellal & Neville Wakefield, came together on June 2 to celebrate the launch of Garage’s video art exhibition “Commercial Break,” on the terrace of The Bauer Hotel. Garage, a project of the Iris Foundation, is a Moscow-based international arts space that explores and advances contemporary culture. “Commercial Break” is curated by Neville Wakefield and powered by POST. The exhibition features videos by one 134 artists, artists include Anton Ginsburg, Francesco Vezzoli, Helmut Lang, Electroboutique, Tom Sachs, Josephine Meckseper, and Yoshua Okon.
“Commercial Break” is a digital exhibition that can be viewed on mobile installations across Venice and through the iPad application POST Pavillion. The application includes information about the artists and their works, the curator’s statements, sponsor’s message and customized advertisements. During the five-month duration of the Venice Biennale, it can be downloaded for free from iTunes.
Guests at The Bauer Hotel celebration included Courtney Love, Jacqueline Schnabel, Elizabeth Von Guttman, Slater Bradley, Margherita Missoni and Marina Abramovic. “Commerical Break” was presented from during the opening week of the Venice Biennale, and can be viewed on POST now through November 27, 2011.
