The French-American Aid for Children hosted it’s 70th Anniversary Gala, the Bal Des Berceaux, Friday, April 29. This annual Debutante Ball, held at the Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, is the primary fundraiser for the FAAFC. The money raised through this event benefits numerous international organizations that assist children and families with programs that include literacy, arts awareness, family planning, and medical aid. Some of the organizations that benefited this year included The Children’s Storefront, The Children’s Village, La Societe de charite Maternelle de Paris, Le Centre Augustin Grosselin, Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, Surgeons of Hope and Le Centre Francaise de Protection de L’Enfance.

Hosted by former CBS anchor Jim Rosenfield, the FAAFC was honored to welcome twelve young ladies from around the world on the evening of their introduction to society. The evening further included a cocktail reception, dinner dance, a live auction, a raffle drawing, and after party. The FAAFC also took the opportunity to honor their long-time supporter CHANEL with this year’s “Children Comes First Award”.

Once again an overwhelming success, the Bal des Berceaux was able to successfully raise over $450,000.
