Ivan Navarro at Paul Kasmin Gallery. All photos by Whitewall.
The Armory Show is now open through Sunday, March 6. Whitewall was at yesterday’s preview and a few things stuck out – a handful of solo booths, the Latin American Focus section, a stuffed horse, a huddle of lambs, and Ivan Navarro’s neon fence that made its way along the entire perimeter of Paul Kasmin’s (closed off and otherwise totally empty) booth. Navarro’s fence was really the work that stood out above the rest. Strangely, it seemed to have inspired a great many neon works throughout The Armory Show (a few of which were by the artist, as well). Or perhaps we were inspired. Either way, here’s a pretty extensive documentation of some very bright works.
