The Taj Falaknuma Palace from Taj Hotels, Resorts, and Palaces, opened early this November in Hyderabad, India after 10 years of renovation. The palace is the definition of opulence, made entirely of marble and sitting on 32 acres of gardens and terraces. Jade, frescos, inlaid furniture, and hand-made tapestries abound in 60 baroque-inspired rooms and a Grand Presidential Suite that includes butler service. The two restaurants – Celeste and Ada – serve European and Indian inspired fare, respectively. The palace’s Royal Jiva Spa’s treatments are rooted in India’s Ayurvedic traditions. And if all that isn’t regal enough, there is even a library modeled after the Windsor Castle library. Says Raymond N. Bickson, Managing Director & CEO of Taj Hotels, “Look around the world. One rarely finds a city such as Hyderabad that so effortlessly fuses the old with the new, and tradition with modernity. The legendary rulers of this city embellished it with architectural marvels, of which Falaknuma Palace is an original and magnificent landmark.”
