Shoes, timepieces, and other expertly-crafted items created by the famously versatile designer Marc Newson for brands like Nike and Jaeger-LeCoultre will be on sale at the Gagosian Shop tomorrow, the same day that his exhibit “Transport” opens at the gallery’s 522 West 21st Street location. Examining human and non-human transportation, the exhibit will feature Aquariva, Newson’s version of a leisure speedboat.

Staying on the locomotive theme, Gagosian Shop and the Nike Sportswear shop at 21 Mercer will sell Newson’s Nike Zvezdochka, a mesh-like shoe with a design inspired by cosmonauts and a color scheme based on the Aquariva itself. Limited-edition products like the temperature-powered Atmos 561 clock will be available, as well. Also in stock is Newson’s Ikepod Hourglass, a classic hourglass filled with millions of nanoballs that was presented at this year’s Baselworld, and an aluminum case fashioned to look like the surface of the moon for the new publication of the 1969 book Lunar Rock Edition. Newson’s past works have ranged from furniture and household objects to watches, clocks, and clothing, in addition to interior designs for restaurants, shops, private and commercial aircrafts, and a concept car and space plane.
