This Saturday, PS-1 will present the fourth and final rotation for Greater New York’s Rotating Gallery. Guest curator Clarissa Dalrymple’s Rotation 4 exhibits the work of artists Andrew Gbur, Michael Joaquin Grey, and Ryan Sullivan. It is the interaction between the paintings, sculptures, and prints of these three unique artists that makes Rotation 4 particularly intriguing. Everything from their choices of media to their foci to their ages is different. Several large-scale pieces by Gbur, known for artwork that investigates objects and their meanings, will be presented alongside the paintings of Sullivan, who focuses more on nature and organic ways of creating art. The works of these rather young artists will be combined with those by Grey, born in 1961, who examines art in a variety of contexts, from science to culture, and focuses on human development, abilities, and experiences. The opening reception for Rotation 4 is this Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30PM, and will be on view until October 18, 2010.
