Scattered Light, a new installation by artist and engineer Jim Campbell is due to open October 21st on Madison Square Park’s Oval Lawn. Scattered Light features two installations the larger of which boast nearly 2000 LED held in traditional light bulb casings lights spread on 20 by 80- foot 3-D matrix meant to project the illusion of moving figures. Bulbs are stunning on their own as they look like floating snowflakes. The second installation encases LED lights into glass brick wall, the lights will move and reflect images in motion behind it.

The installations will illuminate the hustle and bustle of the environment that is part of Madison Square Park in an appropriate media to enhance the flashing neon of urban living. The installations will be up until February 28th and will be open to the public so that views can pass in and out freely and become part of the Scattered Light.
