Art Hong Kong (ART HK) took place last weekend from May 27-30. 155 galleries from 29 countries were present and visitors totaled over 46,000 (attendance was up 65% in comparison to last year's fair). Major sales of work by Zhang Xiaogang, Anish Kapoor, Liu Ye, and Damien Hirst went for between $500,000 and $1 million. It was a successful fair, in short.
To kick off the four-day frenzie, Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin organized a dinner on May 25 at the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Along with beautiful views of Hong Kong's skyline, guests like Yoshitomo Nara, Emmanuel Perrotin, Takashi Murakami, Tina Kim, and Ken Yeh were treated to an awe-inspiring meal prepared by french Chef Alain Passard.
