On April 8, Diane von Fustenberg opened her first store in Latin America in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The designer celebrated the opening with a retrospective exhibition on her life and career "Journey of a Dress" curated by Andre Leon Talley, on display through May 8, 2010 at Espaço Iguatemi. Iguatemi is the luxury shopping space that is an official venue for Sao Paolo Fashion Week.

The exhibition features over 40 looks from Von Fustenberg’s personal collection starting from 1970 until today, including the original wrap dresses from 1973 and personal items such as family photographs, Warhol’s, and personal letters. Attendees like Dudi Machado and Alexia Niedzielski munched on colored chocolates shaped like DVF's lips print and sipped on champagne. Said von Furstenberg, “Brazil is like no other place in the world, the people are as beautiful as the landscape and it all screams joie de vivre! I am so happy to finally have a DVF home in Iguatemi, Sao Paulo…the best place to be!!”
