Johanna Unzueta, Transition, 2010. Felt and thread, 12 x 12 ft. Installation view at PULSE New York 2010. Courtesy of the artist and RJ Fine Arts.
Johanna Unzueta was awarded the PULSE 2010 Prize in New York last week. This emerging artist is originally from Chile but is now based in Brooklyn, New York and received the recognition thanks to her gallery’s, Transition, booth. The installation mimicked corrugated metal and pipes made of different sculptural elements and recalls structures found in many industrial and urban areas.
The prize included $2,500 in cash and the opportunity to design a limited edition PULSE tote bag that will be available in upcoming editions of the fair.
