Artist Martí Guixe, was the person in charge of designing Alessi´s Spring Collection 2010. The Barcelona native was inspired by every day objects and gave them a twist in their design and sophistication, sometimes encouraging you to take part in the design. Like in the “Blank wall clock”, made of aluminum, where the time can be customized to a person’s handwriting, doodles, and drawings, thanks to the incorporation of a pen.

Another of Guixe’s designs is a tube-shape flower vase with a shiny metal finish - perfect for, say, a long stemmed roses this Valentine's Day.

And then there is my personal favorite, the multifunctional “Communicator balloon”, a stainless steel vessel that's part message board, part fruit bowl. It has 3 speaking balloons that can be used to write messages or leave daily instructions.
