Designer Jon Kimmel joined forces with artist George Condo, to present his latest Fall/Winter 2010 menswear collection at Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris last Thursday.
Condo was the inspiration behind the line. Kimmel based his collection off of the artist’s own personal style – or at least how Kimmel imagines his style. That meant a show full of velvet slipper shoes, cashmere v-neck sweaters, reversible blazers, and velvet suits.
Condo in turn, drew faces that would later be turned into masks and worn by the models masks were created off drawings of faces by Condo. Gabe Bartalos, who has collaborated with artist Matthew Barney previously, was in charge of taking Condo’s drawings, and transforming them into wearable masks.
