Whitewall celebrated its Fall 2009 issue featuring David LaChapelle, John Chamberlain, Peter Brant, and Karl Lagerfeld with a launch party on September 24th, 2009 held at the Royalton Hotel along with Fred Torres Collaborations. Host David LaChapelle, who’s photography of fashion and celebrity established his career, has shifted his focus in recent years to the creation of his fine art photography. In the Fall 2009 issue LaChapelle talks candidly with Whitewall’s Sarah Kessler about this transition, his thoughts on contemporary art, and his upcoming projects. The event was sponsored by Veuve Clicquot and Belvedere and guests included Chuck Close, Andres Serrano,Horacio Silva, the Scissor sisters, Hana Soukapova, Peter Marino, Dror Benchetrit, Will Cotton, Courtney Love, Amanda Lepore, Carlos Souza, Jackie Astier, Michael Shvo, and Peter Marino.
